Vedha (Transit Obstruction)वेध

A classical rule where one planet's transit through a particular house can be "obstructed" (cancelled or weakened) by another planet simultaneously transiting a specific counter-position.

In practice

When Vedha is active, a transit that would otherwise be reported as favorable can have its effect substantially reduced — this app's data model tracks whether Vedha is active for a given transit, though it is not currently shown directly on the Rashifal page.

How it's calculated

Each of the seven classical planets has a specific obstructing house-pair — Rahu and Ketu have none, so their transits are never obstructed. Vedha is only checked for a transit already judged benefic. Sun-Saturn and Moon-Mercury are exempt from obstructing each other (Vipreet Vedha). When Vedha is active, the benefic result is cancelled and the transit counts as malefic.
