Bhakoot (Sign Compatibility)भकूट
One of the 8 Ashtakoot factors — checks the counting distance between two Moon signs (e.g. 6th/8th or 2nd/12th positions from each other are traditionally considered problematic), worth a maximum 7 points, the second-highest weight of all 8 factors.
In practice
A poor Bhakoot match (especially a 6/8 or 2/12 relationship) is traditionally considered one of the more serious compatibility concerns, sometimes weighted heavily enough to affect an overall recommendation even when other factors score well.
How it's calculated
Counted as the number of signs between the two Moon Rashis in each direction; certain distances (2/12 and 6/8 from each other) score zero, others score the full 7.
