Rashi (Moon Sign)राशि

Rashi is the zodiac sign (one of the 12 sidereal signs — Mesha/Aries through Meena/Pisces) that a planet currently occupies. On the daily Panchang page, "Rashi" specifically refers to the Moon's current sign, which changes roughly every 2.25 days as the Moon moves through the zodiac.

In practice

Your Moon Rashi (calculated from your exact birth time) is actually more central to Vedic astrology day-to-day guidance than your Sun sign — Rashifal (horoscope) predictions in this app are based on Moon Rashi, not Sun sign, following traditional Vedic practice.

How it's calculated

Uses sidereal (Lahiri ayanamsha) coordinates, not the tropical zodiac most Western horoscope sites use — this is why a Vedic Rashi can differ from a Western sun-sign date range by roughly 24 days.
