Varaवार
Vara is simply the weekday — but in Vedic astrology, each weekday is ruled by a specific planet, and that planet's qualities color the whole day.
Each Vara carries the general temperament of its ruling planet: Sunday (Sun) favors authority and government matters; Monday (Moon) favors emotional and domestic matters; Tuesday (Mars) favors courage and property; Wednesday (Mercury) favors business and communication; Thursday (Jupiter) favors worship and education; Friday (Venus) favors love, art, and luxury; Saturday (Saturn) favors labor and long-term commitments. This is a broad backdrop, not a strict rule — the day's Tithi, Nakshatra, and time-windows matter more for specific decisions.
Vara here is the "Vedic day," which runs sunrise-to-sunrise rather than midnight-to-midnight. If you check the Panchang before sunrise, you're still shown yesterday's Vara and Tithi, because the traditional day hasn't turned over yet.
