Varga (Divisional Charts)वर्ग
Beyond the main birth chart (called D1 or Rashi chart), classical Vedic astrology divides each zodiac sign into smaller equal parts to create additional, more specialized charts — each "Varga" (division) is used to examine a specific area of life in finer detail than the main chart alone can show.
A planet that looks weak in the main D1 chart can look much stronger in a relevant divisional chart, or vice versa — classical practice is to always cross-check an important placement across multiple relevant Vargas before drawing a conclusion, not rely on the D1 chart alone.
Each Varga divides the 30° of a zodiac sign into N equal parts (e.g. D9 Navamsha divides it into 9 parts of 3°20' each) — which of those N parts a planet's exact degree falls into determines its placement in that divisional chart, following a specific classical mapping rule for each division.
