Year Lord (Varsheshwar)वर्षेश्वर
The planet ruling the weekday on which your Varshphal (solar return) moment falls — considered to color the entire year with that planet's themes, similar to how a birth weekday's ruling planet colors a Panchang day (see Vara in the Panchang glossary).
In practice
A strong, well-placed Year Lord in the Varshphal chart is traditionally read as a generally favorable sign for the year overall, while a weak or afflicted one suggests a more challenging year.
How it's calculated
Simply the classical ruling planet of whichever weekday the exact Varshphal moment falls on (e.g. a Varshphal moment on a Thursday makes Jupiter the Year Lord).
